Free Initial Phone Consultation

New clients can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation with me so that we can decide together if I am the right fit for your needs. Contact me if you would like to set this up.

Insurance and Fees

I accept private pay, and I offer reduced rate fees as well on a limited basis. I am out of network with all health insurance plans at this time.  Many insurance companies pay a portion of services from providers who are out of their networks. You pay me directly at the time of service, and I then send you a superbill that you submit to your insurance company. I recommend that you call your insurance company to clarify out-of-network reimbursement rates for your plan. When consulting with your insurance company, I recommend asking if they provide out-of-network coverage with a licensed psychologist for these CPT codes: 90791, 90834, 90837, 90846, and 90847.

Psychotherapy services can be reimbursed through a flexible spending account (FSA), health savings account (HSA), or health reimbursement account (HRA) as well. Any requested written materials, consultation with another provider, or communication outside of our sessions that is over 15 minutes will incur an extra fee to be discussed prior to billing.

Therapy Fees

Full Fee
$250 for 60-90 minute intake session
$200 for one-hour session
$175 for 45-minute session

Reduced Fee
I offer sliding scale rates as well. Please ask me during our free phone consultation if I have openings that fit your current needs. If everyone pays what they can, when they can, I am able to serve families of different means.

Adult Attachment Interview and Feedback

This includes a 2-hour interview, a 1-hour feedback session, and written feedback report. This provides information about your attachment patterns as a child as well as implications for your current adult and parent-child relationships.

Full fee: $500

Parenting Groups

I provide trauma-informed parent support groups for biological parents, resource parents, and adoptive parents. Please ask me about this option if you are interested.

Full fee: $50 per group meeting
Reduced fee: Sliding scale depending on need

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.  If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.  For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. I will provide a Good Faith Estimate of the costs of services prior to a first session. Please ask about any costs about which you may be unsure, and I will provide clear and accurate information.

Cancellation Policy

Please notify the office 48 business hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you cannot attend an appointment and do not show up for a scheduled appointment or cancel less than 48 business hours before a scheduled appointment, you will be required to pay the full session fee. We may also be able to switch to meeting by telehealth if you are not able to attend an in-person appointment.

Use of Email

Your privacy is very important to me. Email is not a secure messaging system. Please do not include confidential, private, or Protected Health Information through email and use the confidential client portal for this purpose instead. Please only use my email for general questions or messages. When initially establishing contact with me, it is best to contact me here.

Client Portal

I use a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record. After we have our free consultation, I will guide you in setting up the portal. Prior to your first appointment, I will have you sign my consent forms and complete some demographic information. The client portal is also where you can retrieve your receipts to submit for insurance reimbursement, should you elect to do so. The portal also allows for confidential communication with me, scheduling appointments, and uploading of important documents.

Therapy Options

I offer in-person sessions in my office in southwest Portland, as well as virtual therapy sessions using a secure video conferencing link through the portal. I do encourage in-person sessions when possible, particularly when getting to know one another and when processing difficult therapeutic issues such as trauma or loss. Clients must be located in the state of Oregon where I am licensed at the time of a telehealth appointment.
